National

• Chairman of ‘One Nation One Election’ Committee Ram Nath Kovind held a consultation with members of Republican Party of India-Athwale (RPI) and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in New Delhi.
  • In September 2023, the Central Government formed this committee under the leadership of former President Ram Nath Kovind.
• ‘वन नेशन वन इलेक्शन’ समिति के अध्यक्ष राम नाथ कोविंद ने नई दिल्ली में रिपब्लिकन पार्टी ऑफ इंडिया-अठवले (आरपीआई) और आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) के सदस्यों के साथ परामर्श किया।
  • सितंबर 2023 में केंद्र सरकार ने पूर्व राष्ट्रपति रामनाथ कोविंद के नेतृत्व में इस समिति का गठन किया था.

• The World Government Summit 2024 will be held in Dubai from February 12-14. Heads or representatives of more than 25 countries around the world will participate in this conference.
  • India, Turkey and Qatar have been invited as guest countries this year. Prime Minister Modi will participate in this conference from India. This year’s theme is ‘Shaping Future Government’.
• विश्व सरकार शिखर सम्मेलन 2024 12-14 फरवरी तक दुबई में आयोजित किया जाएगा। इस सम्मेलन में दुनिया भर के 25 से अधिक देशों के प्रमुख या प्रतिनिधि भाग लेंगे।
  • इस वर्ष भारत, तुर्की और कतर को अतिथि देश के रूप में आमंत्रित किया गया है। इस सम्मेलन में भारत की ओर से प्रधानमंत्री मोदी हिस्सा लेंगे. इस वर्ष की थीम ‘शेपिंग फ्यूचर गवर्नमेंट’ है।

• The Central Government has announced Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award, to former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, Chaudhary Charan Singh and the father of the Green Revolution, Dr. MS Swaminathan.
  • Bharat Ratna MS Swaminathan was born on August 7, 1925 in Tamil Nadu. Dr. Swaminathan served as Director General of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Government of India.
• केंद्र सरकार ने पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री पीवी नरसिम्हा राव, चौधरी चरण सिंह और हरित क्रांति के जनक डॉ. एमएस स्वामीनाथन को भारत का सर्वोच्च नागरिक पुरस्कार भारत रत्न देने की घोषणा की है।
  • भारत रत्न एमएस स्वामीनाथन का जन्म 7 अगस्त 1925 को तमिलनाडु में हुआ था। डॉ. स्वामीनाथन ने भारतीय कृषि अनुसंधान परिषद के महानिदेशक और भारत सरकार के कृषि अनुसंधान और शिक्षा विभाग के सचिव के रूप में कार्य किया।

• All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched the ‘Support for Students to Participate in Abroad Competitions’ (SSPCA) initiative to enhance the global competitiveness of Indian technical students.
  • The program provides financial assistance, guidance and logistical support, travel grants up to 2 lakhs per student for international scientific competitions.
• अखिल भारतीय तकनीकी शिक्षा परिषद (एआईसीटीई) ने भारतीय तकनीकी छात्रों की वैश्विक प्रतिस्पर्धात्मकता को बढ़ाने के लिए ‘विदेशी प्रतियोगिताओं में भाग लेने के लिए छात्रों का समर्थन’ (एसएसपीसीए) पहल शुरू की है।
  • कार्यक्रम अंतरराष्ट्रीय वैज्ञानिक प्रतियोगिताओं के लिए प्रति छात्र 2 लाख तक की वित्तीय सहायता, मार्गदर्शन और साजो-सामान सहायता, यात्रा अनुदान प्रदान करता है।

• The cabinet has approved the upcoming telecom spectrum auctions to be held later this year. The reserve price for the auction has been fixed at Rs 96,317 crore.

• The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced the launch of offline functionality for e-Rupee transactions to facilitate payments in areas with poor or limited internet connectivity.
• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक (RBI) ने खराब या सीमित इंटरनेट कनेक्टिविटी वाले क्षेत्रों में भुगतान की सुविधा के लिए ई-रुपया लेनदेन के लिए ऑफ़लाइन कार्यक्षमता शुरू करने की घोषणा की है।

• Flywire Corporation, and State Bank of India (SBI) have partnered to modernize and digitize international education payments for Indian students.
• फ्लाईवायर कॉर्पोरेशन और भारतीय स्टेट बैंक (एसबीआई) ने भारतीय छात्रों के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा भुगतान को आधुनिक और डिजिटल बनाने के लिए साझेदारी की है।

• The Maharashtra government has signed an MoU with Google to use artificial intelligence (AI) for solutions in sectors such as health, education and agriculture.
  • The MoU was signed in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Google’s Pune office.
• महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने स्वास्थ्य, शिक्षा और कृषि जैसे क्षेत्रों में समाधान के लिए कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता (एआई) का उपयोग करने के लिए Google के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।
  • Google के पुणे कार्यालय में उपमुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फड़नवीस की उपस्थिति में समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए।

• Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has signed an agreement with Etihad Airways as the official sponsor ahead of IPL 2024.
  • The Etihad logo will be displayed on the players’ jerseys along with the CSK program and platform.
• चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स (सीएसके) ने आईपीएल 2024 से पहले आधिकारिक प्रायोजक के रूप में एतिहाद एयरवेज के साथ एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। एतिहाद लोगो सीएसके कार्यक्रम और मंच के साथ खिलाड़ियों की जर्सी पर प्रदर्शित किया जाएगा।

• India were declared joint winners of the SAFF Women’s Under-19 Football Championship with hosts Bangladesh. After a dispute during the match, both teams were declared joint winners.

• The Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) Stadium in Rajkot has been renamed as the Niranjan Shah Stadium.
  • The change comes as a tribute to former first-class cricketer and senior cricket administrator Niranjan Shah, who has contributed immensely to the game and the region.

• Tata Trust has launched the country’s largest small animal hospital at Mahalakshmi in Mumbai.
  • With a capacity of more than 200 beds, the hospital will provide round-the-clock services aimed at protecting the health of pets.
