National

• Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar inaugurated the Digital India Future Skills Summit 2024.
  • It is being organized by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology. More than 1,000 people including leading industrialists and academicians are participating in this conference.
• केंद्रीय मंत्री राजीव चंद्रशेखर ने डिजिटल इंडिया फ्यूचर स्किल समिट 2024 का उद्घाटन किया। इसका आयोजन इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी मंत्रालय और राष्ट्रीय इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स और सूचना प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान द्वारा किया जा रहा है। इस सम्मेलन में प्रमुख उद्योगपतियों और शिक्षाविदों समेत 1,000 से अधिक लोग भाग ले रहे हैं.

• Senior BJP leader Nand Kishore Yadav was unanimously elected as the Speaker of the Bihar Legislative Assembly.
  • He was elected as the Speaker after the election process in the special meeting of the State Legislative Assembly. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav accompanied the new speaker to the seat.
• वरिष्ठ भाजपा नेता नंद किशोर यादव को सर्वसम्मति से बिहार विधानसभा का अध्यक्ष चुना गया। राज्य विधानसभा की विशेष बैठक में चुनाव प्रक्रिया के बाद उन्हें अध्यक्ष चुना गया। मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार और विपक्ष के नेता तेजस्वी प्रसाद यादव नये अध्यक्ष के साथ आसन तक आये.

• In a landmark judgment, the Supreme Court declared the Electoral Bonds scheme unconstitutional, terming it arbitrary and violative of Article 14 of the Constitution.
• एक ऐतिहासिक फैसले में सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चुनावी बांड योजना को मनमाना और संविधान के अनुच्छेद 14 का उल्लंघन बताते हुए असंवैधानिक घोषित कर दिया।

• The Odisha government has decided to provide interest-free loans of up to Rs 1 lakh to the youth of the state under the new government scheme ‘Swayam‘.
• ओडिशा सरकार ने नई सरकारी योजना ‘स्वयं’ के तहत राज्य के युवाओं को 1 लाख रुपये तक का ब्याज मुक्त ऋण प्रदान करने का निर्णय लिया है।

• Saudi Arabia is preparing to introduce its first luxury train, named Dream of the Desert. It will be the first luxury train in the Middle East, offering passengers the opportunity to travel through Saudi Arabia.
• सऊदी अरब अपनी पहली लग्जरी ट्रेन शुरू करने की तैयारी कर रहा है, जिसका नाम ड्रीम ऑफ द डेजर्ट है। यह मध्य पूर्व की पहली लक्जरी ट्रेन होगी, जो यात्रियों को सऊदी अरब से यात्रा करने का अवसर प्रदान करेगी।

• The Government of Rajasthan has announced a special scheme for laborers and street vendors, named Chief Minister Vishwakarma Pension Yojana.
  • Under this scheme eligible workers aged 60 or above will get a monthly pension of Rs. 2,000.
  • The pension aims to help street vendors meet their daily needs without depending on others
• राजस्थान सरकार ने मजदूरों और रेहड़ी-पटरी वालों के लिए एक विशेष योजना की घोषणा की है, जिसका नाम मुख्यमंत्री विश्वकर्मा पेंशन योजना है।
  • इस योजना के तहत 60 वर्ष या उससे अधिक आयु के पात्र श्रमिकों को रुपये की मासिक पेंशन मिलेगी। 2,000. पेंशन का उद्देश्य सड़क विक्रेताओं को दूसरों पर निर्भर हुए बिना उनकी दैनिक जरूरतों को पूरा करने में मदद करना है

Economics

• The Ministry of Defense has signed an agreement with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) for the procurement of 11 Shakti Electronic Warfare Systems for the Indian Navy.
• रक्षा मंत्रालय ने भारतीय नौसेना के लिए 11 शक्ति इलेक्ट्रॉनिक वारफेयर सिस्टम की खरीद के लिए भारत इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स लिमिटेड (बीईएल) के साथ एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।

• Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has increased its shareholding in SBI Cards and Payments Services Limited from 4.99% of paid-up capital to 5.02% through open market purchases.
• भारतीय जीवन बीमा निगम (एलआईसी) ने खुले बाजार में खरीदारी के माध्यम से एसबीआई कार्ड्स एंड पेमेंट्स सर्विसेज लिमिटेड में अपनी हिस्सेदारी को चुकता पूंजी के 4.99% से बढ़ाकर 5.02% कर दिया है।

Technology

• Cochin International Airport Limited has signed an agreement with Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) for a green hydrogen project.
  • Under this project, a green hydrogen project of 1000 KW will be set up in the airport area. Kochi airport will be the first airport in the country to set up a green hydrogen project.
• कोचीन इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट लिमिटेड ने हरित हाइड्रोजन परियोजना के लिए भारत पेट्रोलियम (बीपीसीएल) के साथ एक समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं।
  • इस प्रोजेक्ट के तहत एयरपोर्ट क्षेत्र में 1000 किलोवाट का ग्रीन हाइड्रोजन प्रोजेक्ट लगाया जाएगा. कोच्चि हवाई अड्डा हरित हाइड्रोजन परियोजना स्थापित करने वाला देश का पहला हवाई अड्डा होगा।

• IT major Wipro has acquired 60 per cent stake in US-based insurtech Aggne Global for $66 million to strengthen its competitive advantage in the insurance sector, particularly in property and casualty (P&C) insurance.
• आईटी प्रमुख विप्रो ने बीमा क्षेत्र, विशेष रूप से संपत्ति और हताहत (पी एंड सी) बीमा में अपने प्रतिस्पर्धी लाभ को मजबूत करने के लिए 66 मिलियन डॉलर में अमेरिका स्थित इंश्योरटेक एग्ने ग्लोबल में 60 प्रतिशत हिस्सेदारी का अधिग्रहण किया है।

Sports

• The Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium is named after cricket administrator and former first-class cricketer Niranjan Shah.
  • Niranjan Shah played 12 first-class matches from 1965 to 1975 and is also a former BCCI secretary. It is Gujarat’s first solar powered stadium.
• सौराष्ट्र क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन स्टेडियम का नाम क्रिकेट प्रशासक और पूर्व प्रथम श्रेणी क्रिकेटर निरंजन शाह के नाम पर रखा गया है। निरंजन शाह ने 1965 से 1975 तक 12 प्रथम श्रेणी मैच खेले और वह बीसीसीआई के पूर्व सचिव भी हैं। यह गुजरात का पहला सौर ऊर्जा संचालित स्टेडियम है।

• The Athletics Integrity Unit and the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) sanctioned two athletes for violating anti-doping rules.
  • Indian hammer thrower Rachna Kumari has been banned for 12 years. Nirmala Sheoran has also been banned for violating anti-doping rules.
• एथलेटिक्स इंटीग्रिटी यूनिट और राष्ट्रीय डोपिंग रोधी एजेंसी (NADA) ने डोपिंग रोधी नियमों का उल्लंघन करने के लिए दो एथलीटों को मंजूरी दे दी। भारतीय हैमर थ्रोअर रचना कुमारी पर 12 साल का प्रतिबंध लगा दिया गया है। डोपिंग रोधी नियमों का उल्लंघन करने के लिए निर्मला श्योराण पर भी प्रतिबंध लगाया गया है।

Awards

• The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), the apex body of chartered accountants, has elected Ranjit Kumar Aggarwal and Charanjyot Singh Nanda as the President and Vice President of the Institute respectively. Ranjit Kumar took charge as the 72nd President of ICAI.
• चार्टर्ड अकाउंटेंट्स की शीर्ष संस्था, इंस्टीट्यूट ऑफ चार्टर्ड अकाउंटेंट्स ऑफ इंडिया (ICAI) ने रंजीत कुमार अग्रवाल और चरणज्योत सिंह नंदा को क्रमशः संस्थान का अध्यक्ष और उपाध्यक्ष चुना है। रंजीत कुमार ने आईसीएआई के 72वें अध्यक्ष के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला।

• Indian Railway Transport Service Officer Sanjay Kumar Jain took charge as the Chairman and Managing Director of Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC).
  • Sanjay Jain is a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA). He has also previously worked as the Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai.
• भारतीय रेलवे परिवहन सेवा अधिकारी संजय कुमार जैन ने भारतीय रेलवे खानपान और पर्यटन निगम लिमिटेड (आईआरसीटीसी) के अध्यक्ष और प्रबंध निदेशक के रूप में कार्यभार संभाला। संजय जैन एक योग्य चार्टर्ड अकाउंटेंट (सीए) हैं। वह पहले मुंबई के मंडल रेल प्रबंधक के रूप में भी काम कर चुके हैं।

• The ‘Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Film by a Director’ has been renamed as ‘Best Debut Film‘ and the prize money has been increased to Rs 3 lakh.
• ‘किसी निर्देशक द्वारा सर्वश्रेष्ठ डेब्यू फिल्म के लिए इंदिरा गांधी पुरस्कार’ का नाम बदलकर ‘सर्वश्रेष्ठ डेब्यू फिल्म’ कर दिया गया है और पुरस्कार राशि बढ़ाकर 3 लाख रुपये कर दी गई है।

• World Hippo Day is celebrated on February 15 every year.
• विश्व हिप्पो दिवस हर साल 15 फरवरी को मनाया जाता है।

• International Child Cancer Awareness Day is observed on February 15 every year.
• अंतर्राष्ट्रीय बाल कैंसर जागरूकता दिवस हर साल 15 फरवरी को मनाया जाता है।
